Our focus at Balex Marine is to ‘Improve your boating experience’. Our first product the ‘Automatic Boat Loader’ (ABL) was designed and developed in New Zealand. The ABL will put an end to frustrating and tiresome times at the boat ramp. It is first in a range of products designed to ensure your hard-earned day on the water is hassle free. Just a world of boating fun and memories awaits you both in the water and on the ramp.

Paul has done it before leading and growing a NZ startup to become a major player in the Australasian and US market. He has extensive executive experience, particularly in business strategy, innovation and product development and the leadership and management of high performance teams.

Lex is the founder and inventor, had the idea and tenacity to get started, and then the flexibility to work with others to allow us to get where we are today. What Lex doesn’t know about the ABL is not worth knowing!
Paul has extensive proven experience in sales, export strategy and market development. His goal is to make Balex a leading brand in the international trailer boat industry.
New Product Engineer
Daryl lives a coastal lifestyle and comes to Balex with a trade and a degree mechanical design.He has many years of experience designing and building marine equipment on small boats, through to the largest super-yachts.Daryl has spent a lot of his life on the water and wants to make your boating experience a safer one.
Sales & Marketing Coordinator
Isabell has a background in publishing and FMCG, but her love to New Zealand, especially boating, fishing and diving brought her to the most beautiful country in the world. With her passion to Marketing she will support Balex Marine to make the brand globally successful.
CFO / Board Member
Lance was CFO of Legendary Marine in the US, which was the #1 dealership for 2012 & 2013. He has in depth knowledge of the US market and detailed practical financial experience.
Marine Technician / Sales Support
Sascha has a strong background in the trade industry and especially with installations, design and customer care. His enthusiasm for boating brought him to the Bay of Plenty and now to the Marine industry as well. Sascha is a “hands-on” person, with great attention to detail and is a great addition to the Balex Team.
Administration & Finance Manager
Jocelyn has extensive experience in accounts and office administration having worked since 1999 for Rollformers 2000 Ltd, a family run manufacturing business based in Auckland. She was involved in all facets of the business from production through to sales, IT support, general admin and accounts through to Balance Sheet. Prior to that, Jocelyn was employed by Steel Technology (NZ) Ltd for 6 years before the company went into receivership.
Chairman of the board
Daryl is a founding Director of Enterprise Angels, as well as sits on the screening committee and on the Board of the EA Fund. He is the Chair and Investor Director of Balex.
Alan is a long-time Bay of Plenty resident and boatie, who took Comvita from a startup all the way to it becoming a significant large publicly listed entity. A perfect fit to the passionate boaties of Balex Marine.
Tracey realised she most enjoyed working with and supporting innovative SMEs that often had very fluid and dynamic environments and very entrepreneurial leaders. She found herself particularly attracted to product development, manufacturing and technical organisations. So she is a perfect fit for the Balex Team and we are happy to have her on board!
